I have recently bought a bottle of CBD oil to see if it will stop me from getting my usual migraines and gut issues. I have also read that it is good for anxiety as it has a calming effect on the mind and body. However its been an hour since I have taken the oil and I am feeling slightly anxious, dizzy, tired and detached. I don't know if its my apprehension or its the oil that is giving me those symptoms.

"CBD oil" is really "high-CBD cannabis tincture." It still has some THC in it which has an anxiogenic effect.

So the CBD oil is a bit of a contradiction then if it supposed to be good at relieving anxiety but has an anxiogenic effect. I took a few drops of the oil last night but I am afraid to say it has done nothing for me. In fact it has given me a bit of low rumbling tinnitus. It looks like the only things that has shifted my anxiety is Jeff Hammes and Dr Weekes advise of acceptance.

Yeah. Cannabinoids have this really weird biphasic anxiogenesis effect. For people who can tolerate them it tends to relax them. For people with anxiety disorders it tends to aggravate them.
Similar to nicotine and alcohol actually.

I'm not a smoker but I tried tobacco long before I had panic and found it relaxing. Tried it again after developing panic and hoo boy panic attack. Same deal with cannabis.

It's strange because I have been reading online that people say that CBD oil is good for anxiety disorders and even makes the anxiety disappear. Also people with anxiety say it calms them and relaxes then yet I have anxiety disorder and it is making me worse. I guess I am just one of those people like yourself who feels worse taking anything like that.

It's interesting how you mentioned nicotine because I remember when I used to smoke tobacco it made me feel very anxious, sick and irritable. I guess the CBD oil is doing the same thing. I feel I have wasted a lot of money on this oil. [frown]

I'm not sure what would happen if you took it every day. Most antidepressants make it worse before they make it better. Maybe it's the same for this. YMMV.

In terms of pharmacological help the only thing that's really made a long-term impact for me has been Kava (fully legal in Australia). Might be worth a shot. I still get panic attacks on it but it definitely takes the edge off.

Man, keep taking the CBD oil. It really helps to calm down your system and has great long term effects. If you feel dizzy or whatever, understand that it has nothing to do with the CBD oil it's just your anticipation.

CBD oil has no THC in it and is made from plants with low THC. I take them and I have mastered my anxiety over the last couple of months. CBD is a great supplement and is good for your body. Don't let you tell anything other than that.

I was looking at that CBD oil and I don't know the studies behind that method. After watching the special on CNN with Sanjay Gupta who originally was against marijuana and then to turn around and be for it caught my attention. He is a extremely successful brain surgeon and he did 3 episodes where there were people who needed a boat load of help where drugs that doctor's give out didn't do the trick and it had bad side effects on most drugs that are harsh on the body and brain. So there was this little girl who use a medical weed that has 0.02 to 0.03 THC and a lot of CBD. This is called "Charlotte's Web" and I was going to go out tomorrow and get my medical marijuana license and try the stuff but it's expensive and I don't want to get addicted. I saw some videos on YouTube there was this woman who has the same fear as me and that's to have a fast heartbeat/heart rate and to her surprise she said that nothing happened to her from smoking it because it had extremely low amounts of THC. I thought about it and my thought is like this.....It's like giving a person 1 drop of anti-freeze and expecting them to go into shock or die.

The bottom line is for me, anyone that I have talked to that has my back and are looking out for me don't say, "I don't know, why don't you give it a try?" But rather they are saying, "I would avoid going down that path." Having my best interest at heart for the people that love me and give me sound advice makes me feel good and that there are other ways. If I were to have some serious pain, cancer, epilepsy or what ever then and only then would I want to give it a try.

If you are having a hard time using CBD oil then you can either try another company or another way to ease your anxiety such as getting Charlottes Web. Not cheap from my understanding but if it works then it may be worth it after all. GOOD LUCK to you!! ~ Tommy

I just want to get the point across that I don't say that CBD oil is a remedy. I say that it's a supplement which adds great overall value to your body and that reduces inflammation and supports natural processes in your body. A healthy body helps dealing with a troubled mind...at least that's the experience I have made. CBD oil is used to treat athletes, that's where I first came in contact with it.
It's legal, you don't have to smoke it and you don't need prescription. It's perfectly fine to use...like Omega 3 oil.
